2008, how it all began…
From September 2008 to May 2009 we temporarily took over Jinnies Place (now Doo Dee Boutique Resort).
At the same time we opened our travel agency.
In the winter of 2008/2009 we started the preparations and construction work for the Swiss Chalet Restaurant
and Guesthouse in Soi 8. It opened in the summer of 2009.
A very successful period followed in the up-and-coming Ao Nang.
2016, major changes…
In spring 2016 we closed our restaurant and started the complete renovation for the new
“Swiss Chalet Bar & Lounge” and the travel agency.
In autumn 2016, opening of the Swiss Chalet Bar & Lounge and the new travel agency.
2019…
As of August 2019, we will be closing our Swiss Chalet Bar & Lounge and renting out these premises.
From this point on, we will concentrate entirely on renting out our accommodation and the tour and travel
business.
from 2016, change and expansion of our business model…
The way people travel and stay is also changing in Thailand. More and more guests are looking for
accommodation with more amenities and multiple rooms for a longer stay. The emergence of the booking
platform Airbnb is further encouraging this.
From 2016 onwards we will be taking over and building accommodations that correspond to this trend. We
now offer our guests holiday homes, bungalows, apartments and villas.
2020 to 2022 > COVID-19
Thanks to the support of our family, friends and our own efforts, we have survived this extremely difficult time. The Thai
government has also contributed by providing residency relief for foreigners and travel programs for
Thais. We have emerged stronger from this challenging time and have made important and forward-
looking decisions during this time:

February 2020, closure of the subleased restaurant.

May 1st, 2021, we took over Jinnies Place and renamed it Doo Dee Boutique Resort by Swiss Chalet.

Summer 2021, move out of the Swiss Chalet guesthouse in Soi 8.
•
Autumn 2021 soft opening of the Doo Dee Boutique Resort.
Many new businesses have come here over the years.
Many companies have disappeared over the years.
Swiss Chalet Thailand has remained!
